The difference between gasket and sealing ring

1. The washer refers to the part that is gasped between the connecting part and the nut; the sealing ring is an annular cover composed of one or several parts, fixed to one ferrule or washer of the bearing and contacts with the other ferrule or washer or forms a narrow labyrinth gap. Generally, a flat metal ring is flat.

2. The washer is used to protect the surface of the connecting part from scratches by the nut and disperse the pressure of the nut on the connecting part. The sealing ring prevents lubricating oil from leaking out and invading external objects.
